Erected in 1816, the Springfield courthouse is the oldest active courthouse in Kentucky. Located inside of the courthouse is the Lincoln Legacy Museum which houses the original marriage certificate of Abraham Lincoln's parents, Thomas Lincoln and Nancy Hanks.
