Description
The Turk's Head Building in downtown Providence, RI, was complete in 1913. At the time the V-shaped building was the tallest structure in PVD. The front of the building has an unusual figure head over the arched entryway, giving the building is unique name. The stone head represents a ship's figurehead that once graced the front of the building. The original wood figurehead, a wooden piece from a ship called the Sultan, was lost to a storm.
