Artist's Description
The Turk's Head Building in downtown Providence, RI, was complete in 1913. At the time the V-shaped building was the tallest structure in PVD. The stone head represents a ship's figurehead that once graced the front of the building. The original wood figurehead, a wooden piece from a ship called the Sultan, was lost to a storm.
