The moment I saw these at the Farmer's Market, I knew I wanted to use them in photography. The paper thin husks remind me of delicate wings. And the tiny golden berries wrapped inside give them a lovely shape.Ground cherries or Physalis are a part of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). Not all are edible, but these were. They are golden in color and generally have a tart to sweet taste.
I live in Knoxville, TN with my husband, 5 cats, and 2 dogs. While my day job as a product and lifestyle photographer is a great, fun job, it does not provide much opportunity for creativity. So, I try to get as creative as possible with my own personal work. My art varies from studio, travel, composite photography, and everything in between.
